2025 DNGTC sets to hold in Nov, recognizes Governors, Industry Icons

An anticipated historic event, the 2025 Destination Nigeria Governors Tourism Conference (DNGTC) which was slated to hold October 7th, has been shifted to November 14th and 15th, 2025, after due consultation with the key partners.

According to the statement released by the Organisers revealed that the event is billed to hold on 14th Nov., at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, while day two, 15th November is for the Abuja City Tour to be coordinated by the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority, NTDA.

The statement further said the event will feature the recognition of Governors who have advanced tourism development in their various states and Nigerians who also contributed to the growth of tourism, Arts, Culture, hospitality, and the Creative Industry in the country.

This is in collaborative efforts with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Nigerian Tourism Development Authority, NTDA, Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, and Africa- International Tourism Economic Council, AITEC World.

The event is also supported by corporate sponsors like MTN, Aero Contractor, AirPeace, Arik, Air Rano, Eko Hotels, Envoy Hotel, Radisson Hotels Group, Nigeria Bottling Company, Bifarmers Limited, MUSIAD Nigeria, and Exhibitors among others.

The theme: Harnessing Tourism: A strategic Pathway for the Nigerian Governors to foster Economic Growth and Employment” aims to positioning Nigeria as a destination in Africa and to the rest of the world.
The convener, Ambassador Ayo Omotoso said, “The change of date is crucial for us to have a remarkable historic event in 65 years which is the first of its kind with respect to our partners at the governmental agencies and related ministries.

The event which is first of its kind in Nigeria’s 65 years, is set to transform the country through achievable tourism goals, making it a viable Destination to visit while participants should register online at https://dngtc.ng/registration/

Omotoso who attributed the World Tourism Day 2025 theme: ‘Tourism and Sustainable Transformation an indication that this year’s theme is connected to the objectives of the event.

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for appointing Mr. Olayiwola Awakan, a seasoned Art, Culture, and Tourism promoter as the new Director General of Nigerian Tourism Development Authority.
“This is a clear indication that Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda can be sustainable through the NTDA’s pivotal role in tourism development and transformation as an agent of positive economic change, innovation, and people-centric environmental and cultural investments for community -based growth”, Omotoso added.

He noted that the forthcoming event is fundamental to Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda in collaboration with key govt ministries, agencies, stakeholders in Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hospitality, Creative Industry, and the Media for a successful premier event in the annals of the tourism industry.

The 2025 DNGTC will facilitate investment opportunities, job creation, and revenue generation, and foster productive collaboration with the Nigerian Governors, relevant ministries and agencies, and stakeholders for national growth and community empowerment.

It will re-invent the tourism industry through the Public-Private Partnerships and without a doubt, every state has a unique comparative advantage in the classification of tourism offerings in Nigeria.
