The heavyweight sport icon, Anthony Joshua who was involved in a ghastly accident has been discharged in the hospital on 31st December, 2025.
According to a joint statement released by Ogun and Lagos State Government revealed that Joshua was discharged from hospital late afternoon with heavy heart and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends in the auto crash.
Media Bypass News reports that the Sport icon was involved in the ghastly accident on the 29th December, 2025, where two of his close friends, Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami tragically and unfortunately lost their lives.
The statement revealed further that Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos on Wednesday, 31st December, to pay their final respects to his two deported friends as they were being prepared for repatriation scheduled for later that evening.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and his counterpart in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu deeply appreciated the public concern and show of love and affection over this very sad and unfortunate incident.
They both commiserated with the families of Anthony Joshua’s two deceased friends, prayed for God to grant the repose of their souls whilst granting their families, loved ones the fortitude to bear this very sad and painful loss.
The two Governments also appreciated Mr President. His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for all fatherly support he gave through out the process.
They expressed gratitude to the team of Doctors and medical personnel tagged the Lagoon Hospital Ikoyi that attended to Anthony and those that sustained injuries, for the quality of care and professionalism which is truly commendable.
