Communities and road users across Zamfara State have rejoiced over the Federal Government’s infrastructure development drive during the inspection and commissioning of key federal road projects in the North-West zone under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
This is in continuation of the National Media Tour and Commissioning of the Emergency/Intervention Projects, while the exercise aims to showcase progress, quality, and impact of federal road projects across the country.
Speaking during the tour in Gusau, Zamfara State on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-West), Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, explained that the initiative was designed to enable Nigerians, through the media, to independently assess the Federal Government’s interventions in the road sector.
He noted that the media tour was deliberately conducted without the Honourable Minister of Works or the Permanent Secretary, to allow journalists unrestricted access to project sites and to ensure objective, first-hand reporting on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Administration’s infrastructure development and delivery.
The Media Tour also featured the formal commissioning of completed Emergency Road Projects that had earlier been opened to traffic but were yet to be officially inaugurated.
In a statement released by the Ministry the commissioning exercise was led by Hon. Yakasai alongside key stakeholders in the Nigeria Project.
