The forthcoming 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention is poised to be a landmark event, demonstrating the party’s unwavering commitment to unity, discipline, and national progress.
This assurance came from the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during the inauguration of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee in Abuja on Monday.
Minister Idris, serving as Co-Chairman of the subcommittee, emphasized the convention’s pivotal role in strengthening internal democracy and solidifying the party’s vision for a united, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria.
Speaking virtually from the UK, he highlighted the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s bold reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term development, reaffirming the APC’s dedication to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The event scheduled to be held from March 25-28, 2026, the Minister says, “In today’s rapidly evolving information landscape, effective communication is paramount to the success of major political events”.
Idris underscored the strategic and vital responsibility entrusted to the Media and Publicity Subcommittee, stating that the mandate extends beyond routine publicity, encompassing accurate information dissemination.
“But transparency promotion, coordinated media engagement, and projecting the convention’s processes and outcomes to both Nigerian citizens and the international community.
The committee’s comprehensive responsibilities include content creation, media relations, planning, buying, liaison with other subcommittees, report writing, documentation, media monitoring, and performance evaluation across various platforms.
Minister Idris urged members to approach their assignment with the highest levels of professionalism, creativity.
Also with a strong sense of duty, stressing that leveraging media platforms effectively will ensure wide and positive coverage while upholding credibility and integrity.
Congratulating the subcommittee members, Minister expressed confidence that their collective experience and expertise would significantly contribute to the successful organization and communication of the Convention.
