In a landmark celebration marking its 75th anniversary, the Federal Radio
Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) is poised for a new era of broadcasting, driven by President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to modernizing public media.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, affirmed
this vision, ensuring that every Nigerian remains informed and connected.

Speaking at the vibrant logo unveiling ceremony in Abuja recently, Minister Idris highlighted the tangible progress already underway.

He announced significant investments in
infrastructure, including new 50-kilowatt medium-wave transmitters in strategic locations like Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, and Gwagwalada.

This technological leap is set to dramatically expand FRCN’s reach, solidifying its position as a leading voice across Nigeria’s vast radio landscape.

Beyond the hardware, the Minister emphasized a broader reform agenda centered on openness, accountability, and robust citizen engagement.
He underscored the critical role
of a strong media and an engaged citizenry as the twin pillars of a thriving democracy, urging FRCN to continue its legacy of amplifying Nigerian voices and fostering constructive national dialogue.

For three-quarters of a century, FRCN has not merely broadcast; it has uplifted communities and united the nation.

The newly unveiled anniversary logo, as described by Minister Idris, is more than just an emblem. It symbolizes 75 years of unwavering trust and points towards a future where FRCN remains a credible and unifying force.
Dr. Mohammed Bulama, the Director- General of FRCN, echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for the government’s support.

He affirmed that the anniversary marks not only a celebration of FRCN’s rich legacy but also a renewed dedication to innovation, professionalism, and its core mandate to inform, educate, and unite Nigerians in an ever-evolving technological landscape.

This modernization drive ensures that as FRCN steps into its next chapter, it continues to adapt, innovate, and serve as a beacon of public service broadcasting for all Nigerians.
