Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu has vehemently condemned the barbaric killing of a teacher abducted from Esiele community in Oyo State, vowing that the perpetrators and their collaborators will face the full wrath of the law.

The President’s strong stance comes amidst ongoing, intensified rescue operations for other staff, students, and pupils kidnapped last Friday from the Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School in the Oriire Local Government Area.

The tragic incident, which saw bandits invade the educational institutions, has plunged the community into distress.

While security operatives work tirelessly around the clock to secure the release of the remaining victims, the reported death of one of the abducted teachers has cast a somber shadow over the efforts.

The President extended his deepest sympathies to Governor Seyi Makinde, the government, and the people of Oyo State, commending the Governor’s swift actions.

He assured the state of the Federal Government’s unwavering collaboration in the rescue mission. “I am saddened by the reported killing of one of the teachers kidnapped by the gunmen who invaded the community.
“I sympathise with Governor Seyi Makinde and commend the steps he has taken on the matter. I sympathise with the families of the kidnapped victims,” President Tinubu stated.

He further revealed that the Inspector- General of Police (IGP), acting on his direct instructions, is personally leading a tech-driven operation, deploying tactical and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to the affected areas.

“We expect a breakthrough soon. The bandits and all their local collaborators will be fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Tinubu affirmed, signaling resolute commitment to bringing the culprits to justice.
The President also highlighted the broader implications of such incidents, reiterating the urgent need for the establishment of state police to bolster security in underserved areas.

He urged the National Assembly to expedite the enactment of legislation that would facilitate the creation of state police forces, emphasizing its critical role in preventing future occurrences of similar crimes.

As the nation awaits the safe return of the abducted individuals, President Tinubu’s condemnation and assurance underscore the govt’s determination to combat insecurity and protect citizens, particularly the vulnerable in educational institutions.
