The Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has received Award of Excellence and been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership.
Goronyo was also decorated as a Youth Vanguard Ambassador during a ceremony held at the Minister’s Conference Hall in Mabushi, Abuja.
The honours recognised his contributions to leadership, youth development, public service and national development. The ceremony was led by the institute’s Country Director, USA, Dr. Samuel Ojo.
Accepting the recognition, Goronyo described it as both a privilege and a fresh responsibility to serve humanity and contribute to Nigeria’s development.
“It is not something small. I take it as a big thing and as another challenge to serve humanity,” he said.
The minister said effective leadership must be built on transparency, honesty, integrity and accountability.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to empowering young Nigerians and developing human capacity.
Ojo said Goronyo was selected as a Youth Vanguard Ambassador because of his commitment to youth engagement and leadership.
He explained that the programme, being developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, would provide platforms for young Nigerians to showcase their talents in innovation, research and leadership.
According to him, the initiative will operate at state, zonal and national levels and seek to connect talented young people with opportunities to develop and commercialise their ideas.
“We have a lot of talents in the field of innovation and research, but there is no bridge. We are trying to create that bridge,” Ojo said.
Goronyo also highlighted the Federal Government’s road infrastructure agenda, citing projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.
He said the use of concrete technology on selected projects would improve the durability of Nigeria’s roads and pledged to uphold integrity, accountability, professionalism, inclusion and respect for human dignity in the discharge of his duties.
