Tourism leaders, policymakers, investors and industry stakeholders from Africa and Europe are expected to converge in Albano Laziale, near Rome, from 11 to 13 March 2027 for the Africa–Europe Tourism Exchange Forum.

The forum, organised by Kalo Africa Media and Globe Trotters SA Ltd in partnership with the Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council, will focus on using tourism to drive sustainable development, investment and stronger ties between the two continents.

Held under the theme “Accelerating Tourism: Africa–Europe Synergy for Sustainability,” the event will bring together tourism boards, government agencies, hospitality operators, airlines, travel technology companies, cultural institutions, investors, researchers and youth-led enterprises.

Organisers say the forum will move beyond conventional discussions by creating opportunities for business partnerships, government-to-business engagement and practical cooperation in tourism, trade, culture and investment.

Key areas of discussion are expected to include sustainable destination development, heritage preservation, community participation, cultural diplomacy, tourism technology, destination promotion and responsible investment.

Participants will also examine how African destinations can improve their visibility in European markets while European businesses explore opportunities across Africa.

Amb. Michelina Sanquest, co-founder for Europe and head of Globe Trotters SA Ltd, said Albano Laziale was ready to welcome delegates.

The city, her hometown, is expected to showcase the role smaller destinations and local communities can play in the wider tourism economy.

Amb. Kazeem Balogun, co-founder for Africa and managing editor of Kalo Africa Media, said the forum would provide a platform for tourism professionals, investors, governments and private enterprises to develop partnerships with lasting economic and social benefits.

The organisers also plan to recognise individuals who have contributed to tourism development across Africa and Europe. Panel discussions will examine the role of media, digital visibility and innovation in promoting destinations and expanding their international reach.

With preparations under way, stakeholders interested in participating have been invited to contact the organisers at info@aetef.com or visit www.aetef.com.
