The Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede has concluded that the Anambra candidate, Ejikeme Mmesoma was probably duped or part of the syndicate manipulated her forged UTME result
In an interview with Premium Times, the Registrar who stood his ground that the Ejikeme’s result was forged, added that Nigerians will be shocked if the board decides to reveal the details of the “forgery” perpetrated by the candidate.
Ejikeme who had earlier on video denied the allegation levied against her, saying the forged result was printed from JAMB portal, according to her, “I’m Ejikeme Mmesoma. I’m the owner of this result. I went to the JAMB portal to print this result and this is the result they gave me. This is my aggregate, 362.
“This is exactly how I printed and downloaded it from that site. So they are now saying I forged my result, which I don’t know and I am traumatised that they accused me of forging my own results because I’m not capable of forging my result. This is the evidence.
“They said I forged my result, they scanned this QR code and it showed another name, a Yoruba name, Omotola Afolabi, I38 and that same person that got 138, they checked again the person got 338 meaning that there is a problem somewhere”, she said.
Oloyede said, “If someone scan the code, the candidate’s result will show. So I can say emphatically that the girl is parading a fake result. It is either she is being duped, or she is part of a syndicate manufacturing purported JAMB results.
He added, “There are security features on our results, so I can emphasise that the girl is just trying to deceive the public. Her result is completely fake.
“Her claim that she printed the result from our site is a lie, and totally incorrect. If we should reveal all that we know, people will be shocked. So if people are looking for shortcuts to achieve an end, that is what would happen”, the Registrar said.
Meanwhile, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has banned Anambra pupil, Mmesoma Ejikeme from taking the board’s exams for three years, withdrawn her certificate while insisted that the pupil forged her result.
The spokesperson of JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday, adding that the board concluded high-level investigations before coming to this conclusion.
Fabian said, “In the meantime, the Board, after considering the weighty infraction committed by Ms. Ejikeme Mmesoma, and in line with established procedures, withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and also barred her from sitting the Board’s examination for the next three years”.
