The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has urged Corps members to always remember to uphold the Scheme’s Core Values of Patriotism through the service year and beyond.

In his Easter message to Corps members nationwide on Sunday, General Ahmed said it’s his pleasure to felicitate with them as Nigerians and Christians commemorate and imbibe the significance of Easter in their national life.

According to him, “As we reflect on the lessons of Easter, I enjoin you all to sustain the spirit of harmony, tolerance, sacrifice, and understanding while discharging your responsibilities in furtherance of the Nigerian Project.

“Always remember to uphold the Scheme’s Core Values of Patriotism, Integrity, Efficiency, Commitment and Team Work throughout the Service Year and beyond and continually pray for the unity and progress of our dear nation, Nigeria.

“As we look forward towards unveiling the activities outlined for the 50th Anniversary of NYSC in the weeks ahead, we must use this period of Easter to appreciate God for the numerous successes of the Scheme in the last five decades and further pray for a secure and fruitful future for the Scheme.

“While assuring you of my commitment to your welfare and security, there is no doubt, that Government at all levels and Nigerians from all walks of life  appreciate your contributions in expanding the frontiers of national  development through our noble scheme NYSC”, the DG said.
