The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to host a global media briefing this Thursday to outline its strategies and readiness for the upcoming 2026 National Convention.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Mohammed Idris, the Co-Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee for the convention and the Minister of Information and National Orientation.
During a committee meeting, Minister Idris emphasized the importance of the briefing, stating, “As part of what we need to do, a major press conference to be held on Thursday to unveil the expectations of the party to Nigerians.”
He urged committee members to collaborate effectively, highlighting the need for unity and sacrifice to ensure successful communication and a well-executed convention.
Idris also reminded members of the APC’s status as Africa’s largest political party and its commitment to strong internal democratic values.
He cited the President’s consistent adherence to democratic processes throughout his political career and national leadership as an example for party members.
The convention, scheduled for March 27 to 28, 2026, in Abuja, is seen as a crucial event for the party to reinforce its internal structures and democratic principles.
Key stakeholders, including Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy; Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.
Also, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Spokesperson of the Senate; Honourable Akin Rotimi, Spokesperson of the House of Representatives; and other prominent members, attended the committee meeting.
