The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard, one of the leading support groups for the President has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of satisfaction and desist from acts of sabotaging the economic well-being of the common man on the street.

The National Convener, Sola Olofin made this declaration at the End-of-Year and New Year party, organised to honour its members and the accomplishments of President Tinubu and used the occasion to outline their agenda for the year ahead.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Sola Olofin, described President Tinubu as a determined politician with a clear strategy to address the numerous challenges facing the country.
Olofin emphasized that the event served not only as a celebration of past achievements but also as a platform to communicate their agenda for the New Year. “One of our key initiatives is outreach to ensure we care for the needy,” he stated.

“We take it upon ourselves to visit those who are less privileged, including hospital patients unable to pay their bills. We provide the necessary humanitarian support and counsel as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of BAT Vanguard.”

He added, “We are doing this in support of our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his Renewed Hope agenda.”

On the strength and operations of BAT Vanguard, Olofin pointed out that the organization has been active since 2019, playing a crucial role in encouraging the incumbent president to enter the race for the presidency.
“Our organization began with just four members in 2018, and we believe that Nigeria, at this critical time, needs no one but Bola Ahmed Tinubu to guide the people to the promised land—something we are already beginning to see.”

Olofin recounted how he and others urged President Tinubu to run for office when he was initially reluctant. “We saw his passion for the country and for helping the poor, which convinced us that if given the opportunity, he would deliver.”

He highlighted some of the administration’s achievements and pledged that BAT Vanguard would enhance its efforts to support the current administration’s Renewed Hope agenda for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“Take, for instance, the issue of local government autonomy, which stands out as one of the largest achievements of this administration, bringing government closer to the grassroots. Local leaders are also critical in delivering the dividends of democracy to their communities,” he explained.
Addressing the revival of the nation’s refineries, Olofin stated that the Tinubu administration took significant steps, such as eliminating fuel subsidies. “President Tinubu has made it clear that the refineries must operate effectively.

“BAT Vanguard was among the groups that inspected the refineries, and we were pleased to see that the Port Harcourt refinery, with a capacity of 60,000 barrels, is fully operational, while another, with a capacity of 250,000 barrels, is about 80% complete.”

He noted that the Warri petrochemical refineries have also resumed operations. “We are already observing positive outcomes, with fuel prices beginning to decrease.

“Soon, we expect fuel to be sold for much less, which will bring joy to Nigerians who have been struggling with rising commodity prices. However, we need to acknowledge that average Nigerians also contribute to these problems.
“There is a need for a culture of satisfaction; too many people are greedy and exploit governmental shortcomings, which only inflicts pain on others. I urge Nigerians to embrace a culture of contentment and to avoid overpricing goods for personal gain or exploiting difficult situations.”

Olofin concluded by spotlighting the success of his organization. “BAT Vanguard has been effective, with coordinators in all states of the Federation.

“This Christmas period, we were able to reach out to many people, distributing palliative support to those in need. This year, we plan to continue this important work.”

“We are going to be positioned with the government, identifying the need of the masses through necessary interventions across the country,” Olofin said.

Not a few government officials are among the role calls of important personalities at the occasion Chaired by the Chairman National Sports Commission, Sheu Dikko.
