Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri- Erewa has re-emphasised the need for Diaspora skills transfer to obtain excellence and efficient service delivery in the Healthcare sector in Nigeria.

This was contained in statement released by the Commission as she noted that the development of any country is a collaborative front of both the inner circles of the country and its Nationals living and working in the Diaspora.

The NIDCOM Boss maintained that Nigeria has the top best medical practitioners in the world, that if they partner with the medical practitioners at home, will boost Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system.

Dabiri-Erewa applauded Dr. Alabi for making the nation proud and urged others to be inspired by the UK doctor, while assuring her of the Commission’s availability to support her vision in whatever capacity for the country.

Dr. Alabi explained that her purpose for the visit is to push for a policy that will enable access to better medical attention within every three kilometre radius in the country, as she raised that healthcare is very key, for a healthy nation equals a growing GDP.

She also stated that such practice is done in the UK and believes this is doable in Nigeria, especially since the country recently transitioned to a new government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Dr Alabi who is a member of the Doctors for Change initiative and WimBiz, requested for partnership between such organisations and NiDCOM.

Dr. Monica Simi Alabi is a UK medical practitioner of Nigerian origin. She is a philanthropist, and an expert in policy and leadership in the healthcare system, as well as the Founder and convener of Beyond Wealth Initiative.
