The National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has assured the Stakeholders that the impact of the Scheme, which is undeniably felt in every sector of the national life, shall continue to be sustained and deepened in the many years ahead.

In his Eid-il-Fitri message to Corps members and staff on Friday, while felicitating with them, and all Muslim faithfuls on successful completion of Ramadan fast, vowed that welfare of Corps Members, as well as staff members shall continue to be prioritised by NYSC Management.

The DG said, “The National Youth Service Corps, a responsible and responsive institution, which in almost 50 years of existence has become a household name, pivot of national unity, and catalyst for development shall continue to be in the forefront of this patriotic march to national development”.

He stated that the virtues of sacrifice, discipline, tolerance, love, care for needy and deep spirituality which characterised the period of fasting should be sustained and displayed in everyday life “as we collectively and progressively build a united and developed entity which posterity, and indeed Africans shall be proud of.

“Remarkably, the Eid-El-Fitri celebration provides us a unique opportunity for sober reflection, self evaluation, and need to continuously re-dedicate ourselves to the service of our beloved country, by deploying our talent, time and treasure towards the upliftment of Nigeria”, he added.
