The Federal Government through the Works Ministry has swung in action to bring relief to the people whose livelihood was adversely affected by devastating flood that damaged the Sabon Gari axis of Section 2 Kano- Maiduguri road of Bauchi State.
According to the statement released by the Ministry on Thursday, stated that the Works Minister, Engr David Umahi ordered the repair after receiving an alarming report on the heavy flooding which damaged the road.
This flood disaster according to the statement occasioned by climate change was going to cause monumental hardship to the people of the affected area and indeed all the users of the road.
But the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his usual generous greatness of spirit brought immediate and prompt intervention which renewed the hope of the people of the Area.
In furtherance of the President’s mandate, the workaholic Minister visited the area on 15th August of this year, initiated emergency response processes and permanent solution measures towards sorting out the critical situation of the road.
The statement further said, “Today, the life- threatening problems faced by the people on account of destroyed road has been solved as the Federal Ministry of Works has fixed the road.
“And opened it for use on emergency basis pending when the final and permanent construction work is completely executed while the road on 12th September opened for use courtesy of the ingenuity of the Minister of Works”, the statement added.
The Federal Ministry of Works expressed appreciation to the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for returning hope to the good people of Bauchi State and commended Senator Umahi for being up to task always.
