Mr Confidence Oribhabor of no 7, Okuta Street, Ebele, Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria has narrated the trauma him and his family, especially his wife went through after his home was attacked by unknown gunmen.
Mr Oribhabor had stayed with his wife, Mrs Itohan Oribhabor and his two sons at the above address for years before the unfortunate incident.
Narrating his ordeal to Media Bypass News, he stated the incident occurred on 10th September 2023, at about 11:00hrs, that the unknown gunmen invaded their vlillage in Okuta in Igueben L.G.A, Edo State.
Mr Oribhabor said further that two of
the armed men broke into his residence, beat him up, destroyed his property and raped his wife, adding that these armed men broke into different houses in the village that night.
According to him, “We could not see their faces because they were masked, some
youths and vigilantes swung into action to chase them away.They are only with locally-made gun, they could not do much.
“During that period, the elders of the community called the Nigeria Police Force, but before the arrival of the police, the gunmen have already gone. Alot of havoc wrecked, houses destroyed, sporadically shooting in the air”.
After filing a report at the police station, a case was accepted and it was referred for investigation, his statement recorded and the family was advised to be vigilant
and seek for succor because their lives was in a great danger, as authority would intensify effort to deal with the situation and bring the culprits to justice.
