The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, the People’s Democratic Party and the West African Examination Council has been petitioned to stop one Wahab Waliu Olatunji from parading himself as the bona-fide candidate of the Party in coming local government election in the State.

This was contained in a petition with suit number Hoy/54/2023 filled in the High Court of Oyo State claiming that the WAEC result tendered by Waliu Olatunji for the purpose of contesting the election should not be considered.

Olanrewaju Afeez Basorun in the petition claimed that as at 1996 Physical education was not inclusive in WAEC curriculum as claimed by Wahab Olatunji and urged the relevant authorities to stop the decision of the PDP to present him as its candidate in the next local government election.

Olanrewaju Afeez of Isale Basorun in Oyo in the petition claimed that Waliu Olatunji the proposed candidate of the PDP is not qualified and that the 21 day altimatum commence from the day the day the petition was served.

The petition seeks to know weather non presentation of a valid qualifying certificate by a candidate for the chairman of a local government is a ground for disqualification.

Hon. Olanrewaju Afeez of Atiba Local Government however in the petition called on the PDP, WAEC and OYSIEC to revert Waliu Olatunji from representing the party in the election.
