The woman leader, National Association of Nigeria Traders (NANTs) in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Amb (Mrs) Rachael Adewumi has promised to ensure cordial relationship between the women traders, their men counterparts and those in authority are maintained.
While addressing journalists to that effect at her inaguration as the Association’s woman leader in the nation’s capital recently, which also witnessed the inauguration of other who were elected in different positions, she advised her women to not only involve God in their business, but also be law abiding and always give support to the government in power.
Mrs Rachael Adewumi however reiterated the need for the men and those in authority to always run inclusive administration, for women to dully contribute their quota to the growth of the economy, which according her, would go a long way in overall national development.
Based on merit, she was however honoured with an award by the Association at the end of the inauguration.
Members of the Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of National Association of Nigeria Traders (NANT) has inaugurated their newly elected executives.
You may wish to recall that the association has last year conducted election to that effect.
In his inaugural speech, the newly elected chairman, Chief Ifeanyi Okonkwo said that the executives under his leadership have plans to promote peace and tranquility in markets, plazas, even as he added that they would liaise with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) towards allocating land to the traders for proposed international market, plaza and NANT’s Cooperative Housing Estate.
The outgoing chairman, Prince Edozie Ugwu, while addressing the audience charged the incoming chairman to not only improve on his achievements, but also prayed that God would give him all it takes to outperform him.
The National President of the association, Barr Ken Ukoha hailed the outgoing executive for their performance, just as he charged the incoming executive to follow the foundation laid down by the their outgoing executives and advised the new executives to cooperate amongst themselves, for effective administration.
The Chairman of the occasion, Architect, Cyril Eromonsele in a speech hailed the Association’s members for their positive impacts, even as he charged the new executives to ensure that they maintain the tempo.
Earlier in his welcome address, the inauguration planning committee chairman, Dr Val Nwodo, while noting that traders contribute about 75% to the nation’s economy, appealed that the rights of traders be treated with regard, even as he added that they would do everything legitimately possible to ensure that there is a cordial relationship between the traders and those in authorities.
At the event, NANT’s national leadership and Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN) signed MoU on how to reduce multiple taxations in the country.
Highlight of the event includes recognition of members and non members with merit awards.
