NANTA bemoans fake agencies’ activities, seek govt support

National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies NANTA has bemoaned activities of fake and unregistered travel agencies who are taking advantage of unsuspecting members of the public

NANTA Vice President, Western Zone Otunba Babatunde Adesokan said this while reacting to a news that a travel agency duped his client of 700M (Seven Hundred Million Naira).

Adesokan said the fraudster who camoflaged as travel agency is not known to any registered members of the association in the zone which comprises of Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ogun and Kwara state.

“We have for long been sensitising members of the public against activities of this dubious characters who are taking the advantage of technological advancements to venture into business they knew little or nothing about”

“We have received several petition and complaints from victims of their nefarious activities but there is little we could do because those who duped them are not registered members of NANTA and they can only be irrelevant when people stop patronizing them”

Adesokan added that “We have alsp been calling on government to joing the advocacy against quackery but the are not cooperating and their inaction is encouraging the activities of this fake travel agencies.

While urging the public to always patronise NANT registered members who has been duly checked and trained to handle their Travel services, Adesokan said “At NANTA, our members are core professionals with integrity and we will ensure those quackery are send out of business.
