The National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) has taken a proactive step towards enhancing collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in a bid to promote the growth of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Nigeria.

Dr Abdulrashid Yerima, President/Chairman of Council NASME, expressed the organization’s keen interest in partnering strategically with NiDCOM for the overall development of the Nigerian economy.

During a courtesy visit, Dr Abdulrashid Yerima acknowledged the commendable efforts of Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, and the management team for their substantial contributions to various initiatives aimed at fulfilling the commission’s mandate.

He highlighted NASME’s role as a pivotal business membership organization providing a platform for interaction and a concerted approach to issues crucial for advancement of MSMEs both in Nigeria and the Diaspora.

President NASME emphasized the Association’s commitment to creating avenues for Nigerians in the Diaspora to contribute to the development of the economy by encouraging the export of goods and services.

According to the statement released by the Commission stating that the collaborative efforts between NASME and NiDCOM aim to facilitate smoother processes for Diasporans to invest in diverse sectors within Nigeria.

Engr Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi, the Secretary to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, representing Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, acknowledged the significant contributions of Nigerians in the Diaspora, recognizing them as exemplary ambassadors excelling in various fields in their host countries.

He affirmed the commission’s readiness for a strategic collaboration with NASME, underscoring the importance of joint efforts in harnessing the potential of the 20 million Nigerians in the Diaspora.

The collaboration between NASME and NiDCOM is poised to usher in a new era of synergistic efforts, fostering growth, innovation, and increased opportunities for MSMEs in Nigeria and the Diaspora.
