The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has continued its expansive Ward-Level Enrolment Drive, a crucial initiative that commenced on Monday, February 16, 2026.

This nationwide effort is steadily progressing, aiming to ensure that every Nigerian citizen and resident obtains their National Identification Number (NIN), a fundamental requirement for accessing essential government services.

Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications at NIMC, emphasized the ongoing commitment to inclusive identity coverage.

“The National Identification Number (NIN) remains foundational requirement for accessing critical government services in Nigeria,” stated Dr. Adegoke.

“The Commission therefore encourages all citizens and residents who have not yet enrolled to take advantage of this decentralised exercise and present themselves at designated ward enrolment centres.

“To facilitate a seamless enrolment process, NIMC advises the public to take the following steps:
•Locate Enrolment Centres: Check the official NIMC website, www.nimc.gov.ng, to find the nearest designated enrolment point within their respective wards.

•Cooperate with Officials: Extend full cooperation to enrolment officials to ensure a smooth and efficient registration experience.

•Provide Accurate Information: Furnish accurate and verifiable information during the registration process.
•Stay Informed: Visit and follow NIMC’s official communication channels for verified information and updates.

NIMC is actively engaging with the public through various digital platforms. For official updates and engagement, citizens can connect with NIMC via:•Website: www.nimc.gov.ng

•Facebook: NIMC (@nimc.ng)
•Instagram: NIMC (@nimc_ng)
•X (formerly Twitter): NIMC (@nimc_ng) and NIMC_NIGERIA (@nimc_identity)

The Commission urges all citizens and residents to participate actively in this drive, ensuring they register and obtain their National Identification Number.
This initiative is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem, providing assured identity for all.

For further details and assistance, individuals can contact NIMC through their website at www.nimc.gov.ng or by calling 08000616462.

Pre-enrolment services are available at penrol.nimc.gov.ng, and for data modification, individuals can visit selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.
