NYSC DG, Gen Ahmed bags 2024 Icon of Human Rights Award

The Human Rights Writers’ Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), has conferred the 2024 Icon of Human Rights Award on the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed.
Speaking while presenting the award to the DG at the Scheme Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, the HURIWA National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko extolled the leadership qualities of NYSC Boss especially with regards to the recent expansion of the Scheme.

And also to the Scheme’s resistance against the mobilization of unqualified graduates for national service.

According to the statement released by the Scheme, the Coordinator who described the DG as a good ambassador, equally urged him to strive more in order to take the Scheme to greater heights.

Comrade Onwubiko also solicited for more public support for the NYSC through well- meaning individuals, non-governmental organisations among others.

In his response, the Director General appreciated the association for the honour bestowed on him while he promised to redouble his efforts in the discharge of his statutory responsibilities to the Scheme.
