A total of 1,673,230 pilgrims participated in the 2025 Hajj season (1446H), according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics.

The report shows that 1,506,576 pilgrims came from outside Saudi Arabia, while 166,654 were internal pilgrims comprising citizens and residents. In terms of gender distribution, 877,841 were male and 795,389 were female.

Air travel remained the dominant mode of arrival, with 1,435,017 pilgrims entering the Kingdom through airports. Others arrived via land (66,465) and seaports (5,094).

The pilgrims represented 171 different nationalities, reflecting the global nature of the religious gathering. Additionally, 314,337 pilgrims benefited from the Makkah Route Initiative, which streamlines travel and entry processes from selected countries.

The figures highlight a successful return to pre-pandemic participation levels and reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and secure Hajj for Muslims worldwide.
