In a twist of event, the Leadership of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State had maintained their stand on the restoration of peace and unity within the party in all the Local Governments of Oyo State.

It will be recalled that, after the Primary Process that produced The Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates for the April, 2024 Local Government Election, a lot of crisis came up within the party as a normal thing to happen in a democracy, but the Party in the State had been waded in to create harmony within the party and the aggrieved aspirants.

Adjournment date, 12th February, 2024 at High Court 2, Awe, Oyo

In Atiba Local Government, the Party Chairman led by Hon Ashamu Kabiru, alongside other Exco members took the resolution of the expulsion of the duo of Hon Akerele Kayode and Hon Afeez Olanrewaju to the State Headquarter for ratification but was declined by the State Secretary of the Party.

According to a Statement credited to the Party Chairman by a our correspondent, Ashamu said…” Our papers were rejected and We were directed back home to go and resolve our issues internally and explore the best approach to deal with the situation than the expulsion and thereby we should go back with our resolution and other papers”.

“However, it is very unreasonable for a party preparing to go for an election in a couple of weeks and still expelling members on a resolvable matter”….quoted by a Leader in Oyo Federal Constituency.
