National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) has said it has secured the release of another female Prospective Corps Member, including the driver of the bus kidnapped in Zamfara State last year.
According to the statement released by the Scheme Spokesperson, Eddy Megwa on Monday stated that the release was in collaboration the military.
Recalled late last year, eight prospective corps members were kidnapped in Zamfara state on their way to report at Orientation camp in Sokoto state, while four already secured freedom in December.
The statement further said the rescued Corps brings the total number of Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) already released to five, as efforts are still ongoing to ensure that the remaining three (one female and two male) still in captivity regain their freedom soonest.
NYSC DG, Brigadier General YD Ahmed appreciated the security agents for their untiring efforts that resulted in the release of the PCMs, adding that the Scheme will never shirk its responsibility of upholding the welfare of Corps Members at all times.
