Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to rescue the remaining female students of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State, who were recently abducted by terrorists.

According to the statement released by the President aide, Ajuri Ngelale on Sunday, Tinubu, condemning the reprehensible act of abduction, said there’s no moral justification for such heinous crimes against innocent victims whose only “offense” was their pursuit of quality education.

It was reported that terrorists abducted of who are mostly female students of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), from their private hostels, at Sabon Gida Village, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

While the President wholeheartedly commiserates with all families directly impacted by this sad incident, affirmed his administration solemn duty to protect every Nigerian citizen.

And in line with this commitment, Nigerian President assured the families of the abducted students that no effort will be spared in ensuring their safe return.

Tinubu further pledged that the federal government is determined to ensure that educational institutions remain sanctuaries of knowledge, growth, and opportunity, and totally free from the menacing acts of terrorists.

Nigerian Minister of Defense, Bello Matawalle on tweet, shared the pain and extended his heartfelt sympathy to the parents, Zamfara State Govt, the academic community and the entire people of Zamfara State over the recent tragic abduction of federal university of Gusau students.

According to him, “I strongly condemn this heinous act, federal govt condemns this attack in it’s totality, I call on our dedicated security forces to intensify their efforts and deploy every resource available to secure the safe return of the abducted students.

“As part of President Tinubu’s agenda, strengthening our national security is his top priority, I vow to give my all and use every resource available in securing the release of the said abducted students.

“At this moment, Air and ground military personnel are already being massively deployed to Zamfara state. Every measure will be taken to protect the lives and properties of all Nigerians.

“I cannot go into more details because of the safety risks of our gallant soldiers. But I assure Nigerians of Federal Governments commitments in securing the lives and properties of its citizens”, the Minister added.
