Controversy of alleged fraudulent act has been beckoned on the Chairmanship Aspirant of the Igbogbo/Bayeku All Progressives Congress (APC) Party, Hammed Aroyewun over acquiring two PCV (Permanent voter’s card) in Lagos.

Source who proofed to be Anonymous told Media Bypass News that the Party has two major apex leaders in Igbogbo Bayeku of Ikorodu, Lagos State, who are Bashorun Olorunfunmi and Senator Seye Ogunlewe.

The Source went further that initially, there was arrangement for Senator Seye Ogunlewe to produce the Councillor ward C 1 and the Vice Chairman while Basorun Olorunfunmi to produce the Chairmanship.
According to the Anonymous, “Unfortunately, Seye Ogunlewe’s candidate (Opemipo Fanoyi Hamzat) was schemed out during the screening exercise with fake APC membership card and discrepancies in credentials.

“The Seye ogunlewe camp too discovered a loophole in Bashorun Olorunfunmi’s candidate who is Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun with respect to PCV (Permanent voter’s card) which was in Ijede 1 and now want to contest and vote in Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA.

“This means, Bashorun Olorunfunmi’s Camp Candidate has consistently not been voting in Igbogbo Bayeku during all election circle. Now the party is at risk of loosing to opposition if the party proceed to field a candidate with questionable PVC having boasted of using his political godfather to get the party’s ticket”.
This Anonymous urged concerned stakeholders to validate or check out for his information on Independent National Electoral Commission Portal with the followings: Name: Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, DoB : 8th April,1979, advising the Party to carry due diligence of this candidate.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the controversial Aspirant to hear his own side of the story and the Igbogbo/Bayeku APC Chairman were proved abortive as the aspirant or the Chairman were not picking their call or respond to reaction.

It was reported that in a twist that has sparked quiet murmurs within party lines, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has been officially cleared by the party’s Lagos State screening committee, but with a puzzling detail attached to his voter record.
Though Aroyewun hails from Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, but his current Permanent Voter Card (PVC) is tied to Ward J in Ijede LCDA, raising questions among party faithful about the procedural mismatch.

His voter information, confirmed via INEC’s online portal, places his polling unit at the Community Hall, Egbin, with polling code 24-12-13-006, firmly under Ijede’s political umbrella.

Report has it further that ahead of the 2023 general elections, he contested for the Ikorodu Constituency II seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly through Ijede LCDA Ward, Ward J.

The recent clearance signals a red-flag for residents and indigenes of Igbogbo baiyeku LCDA over Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun HOA’s chairmanship ambition, despite doubts about his exact political base, a technicality that some say might be a storm in a teacup.
