The Federal Government has solidified its commitment to national development by signing significant contract agreements with four construction firms for critical road projects across the country.

This move, in line with President Bola
Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and improve the quality of life for Nigerians through durable and sustainable road
infrastructure.

The contract signing ceremony, held at the Federal Ministry of Works in Mabushi, Abuja, marked a pivotal step towards implementing the key infrastructure
development commitments.

The projects are strategically designed to boost economic activities, improve the transportation efficiency, and strengthen national integration, as highlighted by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi.

Among the awarded projects, the reconstruction of the Mando (Kaduna) ‒ Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State holds particular significance, fulfilling a key promise made during the 2022/2023 electioneering campaigns.

The administration is resolute in its determination to deliver world-class infrastructure, with a vision to build roads that will last for generations, utilizing rigid pavement (concrete) technology for up to 100 years of service.
The four contractors and their respective projects are: the Reconstruction of Mando–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State, valued at ₦178,116,787,162.00. The Dualisation of Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road in Oyo and Ogun States has been contracted for ₦295,996,609,992.77.

Additionally, the Construction of Osogbo–Ikirun–Akoda Road in Osun State is valued at ₦101,806,585,825.90, and the Construction of Osogbo–Iwo– Ibadan Road, also in Osun State, is set at ₦114,854,477,607.93.

Cumulatively, these four major road projects represent a total investment of ₦690,774,460,588.60.
Umahi commended the selected indigenous contractors for their competence, track records, and proven capacity, expressing the Federal Govt’s confidence in their ability to deliver.

He urged all contractors to mobilize to project sites immediately and commence work without delay, emphasizing the Ministry’s expectation of measurable progress within stipulated timelines.

This ceremony represents another significant milestone in the Federal Govt’s drive to modernize Nigeria’s road network, accelerate national economic development, ensuring a lasting legacy of robust infrastructure for its citizens.
