Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has said that the country needed a man like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while joining capacity crowd at Jos township stadium in endorsing the flag bearers of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2023 Presidential contest.

As the Party Presidential Campaign kicked off in Jos on Tuesday in a statement released by the Presidential aide on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari urged party members to march to deliver the candidates now that the party has decided.

The President when visited Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, reiterated his earlier commitment to ensuring that every vote counts. “No election winner will be denied his mandate, irrespective of the party to which they belonged”.

In handing the APC flag to the candidate at the tumultuous occasion, Nigerian President also urged the party faithful to campaign on issues and the abilities of their candidate and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.

Buhari reiterated his earlier assurances that he will be at the forefront of this campaign because of his belief in the party.

The President said it is only the APC that can steer Nigeria to fulfill its historic purpose adding that working together with the leadership of the party, the campaign council, and its teeming supporters, the goal will be achieved.

APC Presidential Flagbearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier said that flagging off his campaign in Jos, reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of progressive, democratic governance and to the fruits that only such governance can bring to the nation and its diverse people.

According to him, “25th February 2023 is a contest to define the soul of the nation and to determine our collective fate. Given the chance, I will build a Nigeria where all citizens will be able to build a decent life from the fruits of their individual and collective endeavor.

“With this flag off, we take a most important, symbolic step in the best and proper direction of progress and #renewedhope. Remember the road to a better Nigeria lies before us. Together, let us walk it. Together, let us renew hope. Our journey begins now”, Asiwaju added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu led other party stalwarts to Jos, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to call on Nigerians to vote for the APC ticket claiming is the surest way to the prosperity for the country.
