The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has extended his felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the successful conclusion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid el Fitri.
The Corps Marshal’s message, delivered on Friday, underscored the importance of maintaining the virtues of devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment, particularly in promoting road safety across Nigeria.
Mohammed commended the faithful for their dedication throughout the holy month, urging them to carry forward the lessons of love, patience, selflessness, and peaceful coexistence.
He highlighted that these values are crucial for mitigating road traffic crashes, many of which are preventable when road users exercise patience and consideration.
He specifically called upon motorists, pedestrians, and all road users to adhere to traffic regulations, shun dangerous driving practices, and prioritize the safety of lives and property during the festive period.
The Corps Marshal reaffirmed the FRSC’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safer roads through continuous patrols, strategic deployment of personnel, and collaborative efforts with relevant stakeholders nationwide.
Furthermore, Mohammed encouraged the public to support FRSC’s initiatives by promptly reporting road crashes and emergencies via the toll-free emergency line 122, and through the National Traffic Radio platforms. “Such timely reports are vital for enabling swift response and life-saving interventions”.
Concluding his message, the Corps Marshal urged all Nigerians to leverage the occasion of Eid el Fitri to foster unity, national harmony, and collective responsibility in building a safer road environment for everyone.
