Goronyo seeks building professional collaboration to drive transformative change

The Honourable Minister of State, Works (HMSW), Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has advocated the building of collaborative efforts among professionals to drive transformative change, strengthen socio- economic foundations and unlock new opportunities and potentials for progress.

The HMSW made this remark at the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sokoto Professionals Network (SPN), which aims at bringing professionals together towards the sustainable development of Sokoto State.

According to the statement released by the Ministry, the Minister described the AGM theme, “Year of Consolidation and Progress,” as very apt coming at a time when unity and professionalism are the panacea for unity and progress, while also urging members of the Association to remain steadfast and continue to leverage their knowledge and skills for success.
Goronyo applauded them for the initiative to bring an array of professionals together towards the development of Sokoto State, in particular and the country, at large, assuring them of Federal Government’s support.

He stressed that “this is a transformative step towards strengthening our socio-economic foundation, unlocking new opportunities and unleashing the potentials for progress.”

Representing the Governor of Sokoto State Ahmed Aliyu at the occasion, the Senior Special Assistant on Political and Legal Matters, Barr.
Ghandi Umar Mohammed, commended the initiative for strategic approach to fostering development of the state and encouraged participants to actively engage in the organising workshops to maximize its impact on their personal and professional growth.

The Chairman of SPN, Engr. Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, speaking at the event, stated that the Network was formed to bring sustainable development to the State.

And has engaged in capacity building activities, where, since its inauguration a year ago, it has trained about 100 youth on solar installation and maintenance techniques, who are now gainfully employed, as well as employers of labour.
He further reaffirms their dedication to fostering sustainable development in the State by empowering professionals to drive transformative change and shaping a brighter future for generations to come.

Meanwhile, the Network also organised a One – day Management Retreat and Capacity Building Workshop aimed at increasing the knowledge of participants on critical thinking and strategic planning.

The event also featured key contributions from notable dignitaries including the Special Adviser to the Gov on Economic Matters, Dr. Bashir Achida, and Dr. Balarabe Shehu Kakale, a former member representing Dange-Shuni Federal Constituency who pledged their unwavering support for the Association’s agenda, which is anchored on development.
