Media reports identified the suspect as Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old man from California. According to social media posts attributed to the suspect, he is a teacher and an amateur video game developer. Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect told law enforcement he was attempting to assassinate officials from the Trump administration.
The US Attorney Jeanine Pirro stated that the suspect would face the preliminary charges of “using a firearm during a crime of violence, and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon”.
Interim Washington, D.C., police chief Jeffery Carroll noted that investigators
