The Arewa Revival Project (ARP) has congratulated Nigerians on the landmark Supreme Court judgement on Thursday granting financial autonomy to local governments.

Speaking in Abuja with Journalists, the National President of the Forum, Hon Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim, acknowledged the ruling as a significant step towards decentralizing power and enhancing grassroots development.

“We commend the Supreme Court for upholding the constitution and ensuring that Local Governments receive their rightful allocations.

“Building on this momentum, we urge the National Assembly to enact legislation amending the Electoral Act to include electronic voting and results transmission from polling units to the National Collation Centre.

“This reform is crucial for ensuring the integrity, transparency, and credibility of our elections.”

Furthermore, the group urged all stakeholders to support this effort and work together towards strengthening the democracy. Noting that it is time for Nigeria to stand on its feet.

Additionally, as the President of the National Youth Mobilization for Good Leadership in Nigeria (NYMGLN) in a Press statement issued on Sunday rejected the IMF Loan and SAMOA Agreement while urging the Federal Government to harness the mineral resources.

The National Youth Mobilization for Good Leadership in Nigeria (NYMGLN) recently call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to reject the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan and the SAMOA Agreement, and instead harness the country’s abundant mineral resources as a source of income.

“As youth leaders, we believe that relying on loans and agreements that undermine our sovereignty will only perpetuate our nation’s dependency on foreign aid and hinder our economic growth.

“It is time for Nigeria to stand on its feet and utilize its natural resources to drive development.

“We urge the Nigeria Government to reject the IMF loan and the Samoa Agreement, invest in exploring and exploiting our mineral resources.

“To ensure transparency and accountability in the management of our mineral resources and create jobs and economic opportunities for Nigerian youth.

“We cannot afford to mortgage our future by accepting loans and agreements that compromise our sovereignty.

“Let us work together to build a self-sufficient Nigeria that harnesses its resources for the benefit of all citizens”, the Group said.
