Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting the families of Nigeria’s fallen heroes, recognizing their bravery and patriotism.

The governor made this assurance during the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the World War Cenotaph in Lokoja.

The governor emphasized the significance of the occasion as a time to honor the sacrifices of the armed forces in nation-building.
“My administration is dedication to providing for the families of fallen heroes and supporting veterans who served the nation with distinction”, the Governor said.

He further announced the immediate enrollment of widows and children of fallen heroes into the free health insurance scheme under the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme, pledged continued support for injured officers and men of the armed forces in the state.

Ododo however commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing national peace and security through the renewed hope agenda, describing it as a vital framework for unity and development.
Highlights of the ceremony featured the traditional wreath-laying exercise, where Governor Ododo, alongside military commanders, traditional rulers, and representatives of army veterans, paid tributes to the fallen heroes.

Some attendees at the event expressed gratitude to the armed forces and called for sustained support for their families and others still in active service.
