Electricity consumers in parts of Sagamu will experience power interruptions as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out its annual preventive maintenance on two 30MVA, 132/33kV power transformers at the Sagamu Transmission Substation.
The maintenance, which began on Thursday, September 3, will continue on Friday, September 4, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.
TCN said the exercise is aimed at conducting routine checks on the T1 and T2 transformers to ensure optimal performance and improve the reliability of electricity supply.
As a result, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) is unable to receive power from T1 transformer, affecting customers in REAL and Sagamu.
Customers supplied through the T2 transformer—including CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock—will also be affected during Friday’s maintenance period. The TCN apologized to electricity consumers for the inconvenience caused by the exercise.
