A new chapter of unity and collaboration is unfolding in Nigeria’s printing industry, promising renaissance for a sector brimming with economic potential.

Following a pivotal intervention by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stakeholders have embraced a unified vision, setting stage for unprecedented growth and global competitiveness.

The Minister’s call for unity came during the Nigeria Print Industry Stakeholders’ Summit 2026, themed “From Resolution to Renaissance,” held at Nikon Luxury Hotel, Abuja on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the recent resolution of a protracted leadership dispute within the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) offers a unique opportunity to reposition the profession.

“History has given you an opportunity to reposition this industry. Please seize it, work together, and let everyone support the leadership so that collectively you can move the profession forward,” Minister Idris urged.

Recalling the prolonged crisis that greeted his assumption of office, Minister Idris highlighted his conviction that dialogue and cooperation were paramount over litigation.

He underscored the immense economic value and significant employment potential of the printing industry, noting that a unified voice would better position the sector to attract crucial government support and policy interventions.

The Federal Government, through the Minister, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to CIPPON, pledging to collaborate with relevant institutions to advance initiatives aimed to strengthen professional standards, improving the operating environment, and enhancing the industry’s contribution to national development.

Minister Idris also implored CIPPON’s leadership to foster inclusive leadership, carrying stakeholders along irrespective of past disagreements, to ensure lasting peace and a robust legacy for future
generations.

Mr. Koko T. Clement, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPPON, echoed the sentiment of unity, highlighting the significant progress made since the Council’s inauguration in December 2025.

He cited engagements with key government institutions to bolster professional standards, refine industry regulation, and promote policies supportive of Nigeria’s printing sector.

“Everything we do is for the growth of this Institute, for the benefit of every printer, every packaging professional, and every Nigerian who depends on this industry.

“We call on all stakeholders to work together in peace and mutual
understanding so that what unites us remains greater than whatever may divide us,” Mr. Clement stated.

The summit saw the attendance of prominent figures, including Engr Michael Akinola and Mr. Ademola Kasumu of KA2 Press Limited, and Mallam Abubakar Ndagi, Registrar of CIPPON, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation and other distinguished industry stakeholders.

Their collective presence underscored a shared commitment to a brighter, more collaborative future for Nigeria’s printing and packaging industry.
