The Ogun State Government has commenced the laying of asphalt on completed sections of the Ota-Abeokuta Expressway, signaling significant progress in the reconstruction of this critical road.
According to the statement released by the Government stated that the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, spearheaded the decision to take over the rehabilitation of the federal road.
While highlighted the importance of the project to the socio-economic development of the state and noted that the intervention was necessary to ease burden on commuter and residents who rely on the road daily.
He said, “This bold step underscores our administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges and prioritizing the welfare of our people.
“We are determined to deliver a road network that meets modern standards and supports economic growth in Ogun State,” Governor Abiodun said.
The statement further said the ongoing rehabilitation of Ota-Abeokuta Expressway is expected to enhance connectivity, boost economic activities, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
Adding the state government has assured the public of its resolve to see the project through to completion.
