“This award is a testament to the trust we strive to build with every Nigerian. Communication is at the heart of governance, and it must foster confidence, unity, and hope,” stated Idris while emphasized, “Communication must not only inform but also build trust.”

He further highlighted the critical importance of transparency and consistent engagement with both the public and the media, noting that fostering open dialogue has been instrumental in bridging the divide between governmental actions and public perception.

The Minister also underscored the vital role of timely and accurate information in matters pertaining to national security. He stressed the ongoing collaborative efforts with security agencies and media partners to maintain public calm and reinforce confidence in the government’s endeavors.
Idris also acknowledged the indispensable contributions of the media, his colleagues in government, and the dedicated staff of the Ministry in advancing Nigeria’s communication framework.

He extended his commendation to Vanguard Media Limited for its steadfast commitment to excellence and for celebrating national service.

“As we navigate major policy shifts—including the removal of fuel subsidies, foreign exchange reforms, and fiscal restructuring—our approach has centered on clarity, consistency, and credibility.
“We are committed to ensuring that Govt decisions are communicated with empathy and responsibility, always highlighting their long-term benefits for all Nigerians,” Idris emphasized.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to “upholding the highest standards of public communication, anchored on truth, transparency, and accountability.” The award, he clarified, “is not an endpoint, but a call to do more for the Nigerian people.”

The award ceremony was graced by distinguished Nigerians, including His Excellency Peter Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State; His Excellency Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State.

Also, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior; Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development; Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese; and numerous other notable personalities.
