The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its significant achievements in the war against terrorism, highlighting the elimination of over 13,000 terrorists and other violent criminals within the past year.
This commendation, issued in a statement by TMV Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to national security.
The group noted President Tinubu’s public announcement of an 81% decline in terrorism-related death tolls since 2023, a direct result of sustained military pressure. Furthermore, it has overseen the arrest of 17,000 terrorists during the same period.
These milestones are attributed to the adequate equipping of the military and a substantial boost to their morale, enabling a transition from training with international allies like the United States, France, and other European countries to engaging in joint operations targeting terrorist elements.
Operation Safe Corridor has also been a resounding success, with over 124,000 fighters and their dependents surrendering since 2023, a development confirmed by National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu.
The TMV acknowledges the federal government’s initiative to offer a window of surrender to terrorists, emphasizing that failure to utilize this opportunity will result in severe legal consequences.
In a testament to the Nigerian Army’s gallantry, 337 kidnap victims have been rescued and 4,105 rustled cattle recovered in Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba states.
These successes, and those in other commands, are credited to the strategic support and guidance provided to the Joint Task Force, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS).
The TMV attributes these proactive efforts to the Tinubu administration’s commitment to curtailing insecurity through enhanced technology and intelligence-gathering in the fight against terrorism.
