The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced significant progress in the restoration of the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line following the collapse of tower T367 in Yauri.
The damaged tower has been completely dismantled and decommissioned, while the line’s conductors and skywire have been properly aligned and prepared for the next phase of the rehabilitation.
TCN also confirmed that an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower has been transported to the affected site and is ready for installation. The installation will be followed by cable stringing and other essential works required to restore the transmission line.
Engineers and technical personnel remain on site, working to complete the repairs and resume normal bulk power transmission as quickly as possible.
The company thanked electricity consumers and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding, assuring the public that every effort is being made to restore the line promptly.
